A Principal’s Story: How a Miami HS navigates remote learning & their ‘20-21 plan

As school leaders continue to define and solidify an Instructional Continuity Plan for the 2020-’21 school year it’s helpful to reflect on the past few months of remote learning. What solutions have proven successful? What tools can facilitate the learning process for educators and students? And what has worked successfully for other schools?

For our last May webinar we sat down with Principal Uwezo Frazier of William H. Turner Technical Arts High School of Miami-Dade County Public Schools to hear his story.

In this 60-minute webinar Principal Frazier:

  • Discusses how he implemented bulb Digital Portfolios at Turner Tech in 2018. He emphasizes the importance of school leadership setting the tone when implementing new technology, and how a peer to peer instructional model has increased adoption across the school.
  • Describes how digital portfolios benefit educators & students, before & after COVID-19. He shares how digital portfolios streamlined their Senior Capstone Project, how digital portfolios give students a voice and a choice in their learning enabling them to shine in ways he never thought possible, and how they’re helping his students get into Ivy League and HBCU schools.
  • Details his plan for the ’20-’21 school year, and how they’re incorporating bulb digital portfolios.
